Merge AIS Ship Location Data
The AIS (Automatic Identification System) vessel traffic dataset provides detailed information on vessel identity and positioning. Collected by the U.S. Coast Guard, this data comes from onboard navigation safety devices that continuously transmit a ship’s location and characteristics in both U.S. and international waters.
In this sample integration, previously extracted AIS data is used to track a surface vessel’s movement over time. The vessel is modeled as a dynamic entity with regularly updated location data. Once published within Aeges, this entity can be visualized in real time or leveraged by other connected applications for enhanced situational awareness.
